King Arthur was taken to Avalon to be healed of his fatal battle wounds. “Avalon is where Arthur’s sword Excalibur was forged and where he received the sword from the Lady of the Lake”. It is said that King Arthur’s hand belongs to lady of the lake. Morgan Le Fay is identified as the main ruler of Avalon. Avalon has not just one name but many more. A few are: Isle of Apples, Annwfn, Isle of Avalon, and Insula Avallonis. Today Glastonbury is considered to be Avalon. Glastonbury is a very different small town and is known for legends and myths. Avalon is most famous for being the burial place of king Arthur.

King Arthur was the ruler of Camelot which was considered to be a dream city. Camelot is the main home and legendary castle of King Arthur. Arthur knew he was safe beyond the walls of the great castle that he had built. The castle is surrounded by beautiful hilltops. In Camelot there are great stones and fantastic work underground. Today Westchester is considered to be Camelot. Camelot was the starting point of the Quest for the Holy Grail. Arthur’s beautiful wife Queen Guinevere who was not a good woman also lived in the castle with King Arthur. She had a love affair with Arthur’s chief knight Sir Lancelot. Unfortunately around this beauty, things turned within the court of Camelot. There was an intense battle in which many men died or were wounded. King Arthur’s body was never found and many say that he rests under a hill with all his knights ready to ride forth and save the country again. “As peace settled over the country things turned sour within the court of Camelot and civil war broke.
